Future scenarios

Are big families an environmental threat ? What’s a definion of a big family ? Are the family planning policies actually working ? Is it better to have spoiled children with no siblings than to have families with many children ? Who would benefit from that and what would be the best choice between the two?

From a governmental view big families is good, I suppose it’s an investment in the future survival and care of the elderly population. While some argue that big families isn’t good for the environment.

Terms of endearment

One thing that really is the fundamental principle in international adoption (there are many, believe me), is first of all the misconception that children and infants available for adoption are orphans. Well, that’s not entirely true chances are they may have at least on parent alive somewhere.

Secondly, in international adoption the prospective parents usually have to pay huge amounts of money in order to become a parent to someone else’s child. I know children are expensive, but usually you don’t need to pay hundreds of thousands in one go just to iniate a pregnancy (I use the word pregnancy even though the adoptive parents don’t get pregnant).

And then what about all these different nicknames like bundle of joy, apple of my eye…

imported baby…

I know my adoptive parents love me, I do but at the same time I’m aware of the fact that they had to take a huge loan in order to become my parents. Maybe they didn’t really pay for me, but more for the services that was preformed in order to achive my adoption.

I really do think my adoptive parents did take the easy road, since they had all the fun while my birth parents was left with separation and were stolen of so many things like my childhood, and my upbringing, my love while my siblings which I know I have was equally as harmed.

Now we don’t speak the same language any more, and the natural bond you get in a family naturally , that I don’t have with my siblings. I’m afraid I might have painted myself into a corner already, but to rectify the situation I have selected a few fairly recent posts from my other blog:

Beauty ideals & dieting

I’ve been raised in Sweden a Western European country in the middle of Scandinavia. The stereotypical Swede is tall, with blonde hair and blue eyes. But I have dark hair, brown Asian eyes a big round nose and olive skin.

The upsides is that I don’t have that much facial hair and I suppose it can be difficult to guess my correct age. People has mistaken me for a teenager or someone in my 30ths (I’m not sure if that says more about them then about me.)

I started dieting when I was 12 (not really dieting I more accurately stopped eating). After a year of adjusting my diet I only have 11 Lbs left before my ideal weight… But I’m already content as I am.

So far I’ve tried the following diets:

  • GI
  • Atkins
  • Weight Watches
  • raw food
  • smoothies and shakes
  • vegetarian
  • LCHF

And since this post or more particularly this blog isn’t that kind of blog I will not tell you more about them. What I wanted to say is that one thing that seems to change over time is the beauty ideal which makes us (especially women) but also men result in plastic surgery and exercizing and extreme diets. All for the price of what.

In Asia they sell facial creme’s that’s supposed to make you lighter while you can use the same brand in the Western World to buy a product which would make your skin darker.

Big families – a cultural thing ?

I do honestly believe 100 % that there is no need for couples in the Western World to reproduce and have 10 or more children. With need I mean that their survivial isn’t depending on a male heir, nor is it society’s expectations that dictates the conditions. But truth is that in many cultures (Asia, Middle East and Africa) you need a son for your future basic survival. While the Western World has things like elderly care and state pensions and so on.

So I suspect that people who decide to have big families do so because of selfishness, because to me having children is a selfish thing even though it also is a biological need… But okay, two people that loves each other usually wants to have at least one child and that would be totally fine, two makes no difference, up to three would be acceptable, 4 would be allright, 5 would be stretching it but 6 would be the limit.

Then again a family with many children does what every politician wants ensure that there’s someone to look after them in their old age… And then there’s also the taxes I suppose..

But I can’t stop people from doing what they want with their lives, how they want to live them is totally up to them. I just want to present some of my thoughts and opinions… that’s all, people.

But which is worse raising spoiled children (due to the one child family policy) or having a really big family with over 6 children?

House of Angels starring Helena Bergstrom

House Of Angels Änglagård (in Swedish) is the most Swedish movie ever at least that I can think of. It gives an autentic portrayal of life in the Swedish countryside. Helena Bergstrom is married the director Clin Nutley and she has appeared in many of his films, despite what everyone’s saying she’s great actress and her co – star Richard Wolff, really works well as the friends Fanny and Zac.

clips in Swedish…

So far there’s been three movies about Fanny and Zac, the first one (simply known as) House of Angels is in my opinion the best followed by the third part Änglagård Tredje Gången Gillt, Fanny is now herself a mother and she’s left Yxared and House Of Angels for good but she’s forced to return…

The part as Fanny’s daughter Alice is portrayed by Molly Nutley, daughter to Colin Nutley and Bergstrom.

Different types of adoption

Adoption, to replace or get something instead of what was orginally thought…

Actually adoption is so much more then just that. There’s always, always a birth family somewhere. Then you either have domestic adoption or transnational adoption which also can be managed as open adoption…

Esse non videri

To be, the essence of being is actually more accurate than first impressions…

The following quote is suppposedly a quote that Norwegian NATO uses…

Esse non videri, To be, rather than to seem.

DNA

DNA, genes, ethnic heritage. Sometimes insignificant but never unavoidable. At times of major importance, empty boxes left unchecked, questions with no answers. That’s what it means to me – partially at least.

Children, parents & parenthood

One consequence of the infamous one child per family policy has apparently resulted in spoiled and possibly disrespecting children. But there’s a solution to that altough the option I’m talking about is pretty costly. According to a documentary that is.

What is it?

Send your child to military school for six months…

One-child-per-family is or was supposed to be a sustainable solution to the unequal distribution of children and future workforce as well as a way for China to slow down the fertility rate to make the world more even.
